|Frederick, MD, January 27, 2015 – Avemco Insurance Company has just announced the promotions of three key employees to positions of expanded responsibilities.
Mike Adams has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Underwriting. Mike has over 30 years experience in aviation insurance, starting as an agent at an aviation insurance agency in Hillsboro, Oregon. He joined the Avemco® group in 1986 as a Regional Sales Manager and then became Vice President of Underwriting for Avemco Insurance Company in 1998. Mike holds a property/casualty insurance license in all 50 states. He has combined his passion for aviation and his experience as a pilot since 1983 with his knowledge of aviation insurance to become the leading voice of Avemco’s long history of aviation safety awareness. Mike regularly presents safety-based forums and seminars at aviation events around the country, including EAA’s AirVenture and Sun n’ Fun and can frequently be found at regional aviation gatherings helping pilots increase their awareness of safety and accident prevention.
Marci Veronie has been promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Marci joined Avemco as a secretary in 1986 after graduating from the Bradford School of Business in Pittsburgh, PA. She soon rose to Underwriter in the company’s sales division and became experienced in all forms of general aviation insurance, from ultralights to business jets. She was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Sales in 2009, Vice President of Sales in 2011 and expanded her role to head up Avemco’s marketing efforts in 2014. Today, Marci leads a team of aviation sales and service insurance underwriters, support personnel and marketing specialists and represents Avemco at numerous airshows throughout the U.S. She has been a member of Women in Aviation International’s Capital Region Chapter since 2001 and was recently selected as a candidate for the 2015 Women in Aviation International Board of Directors.
Marci D’Alessio has been promoted to Marketing Director. Marci has been responsible for the day-to-day implementation of Avemco’s marketing and advertising programs since 2012. Her new role builds on her promotional experience of more than ten years, to include direct supervision of several team members and, significantly, for developing strategy, budgets, and execution of all advertising and marketing. Marci earned a BS degree from Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD in 2003.
