Lycoming Engines to Display at SUN ‘n FUN 2015
Lakeland, FL – April 20, 2015 – Lycoming Engines, an operating division of Avco Corporation, will feature numerous activities during the SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-In and Expo April 21-26, 2015 in Lakeland, FL. Attendees of this show can visit Lycoming at booth D39-42.
The Lycoming booth will feature an interactive, self-guided tour of the factory that will allow visitors to experience Lycoming in a new way. “Not everyone can come and visit our factory in Williamsport, PA, to see first-hand how Lycoming manufactures engines. This unique interactive tour provides us with the opportunity to bring the Lycoming Experience to our customers at general aviation shows this year,” stated Kristen Samson, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management.
Aviation engines that will be on display at Lycoming’s booth include:
- iE2 – Our Integrated Electronic Engine, known as the iE2 engine, is Lycoming’s “flagship” innovation. The iE2 is an engine and engine control concept that is designed from the ground up to be electronically controlled, coupling reliability with state-of-the-art aviation technology to reduce life cycle costs, increase availability and reduce pilot workload.
- Thunderbolt 390 Series Engine: Thunderbolt Engines are Lycoming’s brand of high performance, built-to-order power plants. Built in Lycoming’s Advanced Technology Center, Thunderbolt engines involve the pilot as part of the design and build team. With Thunderbolt engines, you get a genuine Lycoming factory engineered engine, custom factory built, factory tested and supported – with your choice of fuel systems, ignition systems, and performance enhancements.
