AERO ASIA to Be Held for the First Time in Zhuhai, China, in October 2015
Friedrichshafen – The AERO is landing in China: The organizer of Airshow China, Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd., and Messe Friedrichshafen, organizer of the international aviation show AERO, intend to host a general aviation exhibition every two years in China under the name of “AERO ASIA”. The air show will be held for the first time from October 28 to November 1, 2015, on the fairgrounds of Zhuhai Airport. The next AERO Friedrichshafen, number one for general aviation in Europe, is scheduled for April 15 to 18, 2015. It takes place every year in the south of Germany on Lake Constance.
Airshow China is one of the worldwide leading trade shows for aerospace. Since 1996 the show has been successfully held in Zhuhai in every even-number year. The two partners are confident that the Chinese exhibition and the new AERO ASIA, being held in alternate years, would complement each other perfectly. This is also an ideal starting constellation for Zhou Lewei, Director of Zhuhai Convention & Expo. Bureau and Chairman of Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd.: “The AERO in Friedrichshafen brings a high level of competence in general aviation; in addition, the subject of aviation will now be highlighted annually with the AERO ASIA held in Zhuhai.”
“With our commitment we want to contribute to allowing general aviation to develop successfully in China. The platform of AERO ASIA is to influence the Chinese market positively and become a central hotspot,” says Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann, describing the other activities of Friedrichshafen in China. The market for
general aviation, which is currently undergoing successive approval in China, is seen to be very important over the medium term.
Like Friedrichshafen, the city of Zhuhai offers optimal fairgrounds for an air show. A large outdoor area (static display) for aircraft is available, along with exhibition halls that are right next to the runway. The Zhuhai exhibition team has nearly 20 years of experience and organizes the largest air show in China. “For general aviation, great potential is opening up in China, because we want to be here,” says AERO project manager Roland Bosch. Marketing manager Ludwig Meier adds: “The good thing about this joint venture is that it works both ways. We bring exhibitors, visitors, and media to China, and at the same time we provide the perfect platform for Europe to AERO Friedrichshafen Chinese exhibitors and key suppliers.” Mark Zhou, General Manager of Zhuhai Airshow, visited Europe’s largest and most important trade show for general aviation in Friedrichshafen several times and was impressed by the quality of the AERO as well as the expertise of the exhibition team at Lake Constance.
As part of this year’s Airshow China (November 11 to 16, 2014), the event organizers will be providing detailed information about the new AERO ASIA. A central forum and media event, as well as a scouting trip for interested exhibitors, will be offered by Zhuhai and Friedrichshafen.
